With game one post lockdown it was absolutely wonderful to be back bowling on a scorching Tuesday morning with a celebration drink afterwards with our friends. Almost everybody had added a couple of pounds with the inactivity and boredom.
All ten bowlers that were brave enough to get back on the green were relieved to be back and the bowls improved once the cobwebs were gone and the muscle memory came back. A good number of touchers, but no chalk n awe tae as the Corbett would say. Feedback was very positive on the safety rules that had been introduced and we were all able to social distance with no issues.
The Corbett, Juan, David Holmes are hoping to play sometime this week and
with any luck we will be able to welcome a couple of Benalmadena bowlers next week if we get to Phase 2.
The morning sessions have been moved forward to a 9.30 start and will potentially move earlier as it starts to get warmer.
Everybody coped with the enforced distancing and COVID Rules that have been put into place. Given the lack of interest from all of the members, those that have decided to play every available day where possible will keep to the morning times until demand out weights a single sessions rink capacity. However, if people want to play in the afternoon this is not a problem as long as it is pre booked. (remember the afternoon session is any time up until it gets dark.
