With the easing of restrictions in Spain and on the Costa Del Sol specifically we were expecting to see an easing of the restrictions jowever. the Malaga region is now to remain in Phase O. This means that the bars and restaurants will remain closed.
When we do get to phase 1 the bars and restuarants will be able to operate using outside terraces at uptown 50% capacity. At the same time the travel restrictions ease allowing two people to travel in the same vehicle and small social gatherings. Hopefully we will get Phase 1 approval before or on the 25th May.
The Sports Ministry has requested the FEB and FAB Malaga which control bowls in our region to prepare Social distancing and Safety measures that would allow Bowls clubs to reopen and develop a phased approach that allows it to be done in a controlled manner to ensure that the COVID 19 infection rates remain on a downward trend.
We are in the process of developing the rules and the procurement of the materials needed to allow us to reopen the club to our own members and then eventually FAB Malaga Federated visitors in Phase 3.
Restrictions will mean that we would only be able to operate at 50% capacity in respect to the number of rinks in play at anyone time and restrictions on the total number of people on site at anyone time. A booking and recording system will be put in place to ensure we stay within the allowances as agreed for the specific Phase.
Phase 1 A rink per household for practice.
Phase 2 Play with other households but restricted to 4 persons per rink.
Phase 3. Play with other households but restricted to 6 persons per rink.
It is unlikely that we will get anywhere near to normal until 7th September at the earliest and a booking system will be in place until that time.
As soon as the materials and rules are in place and approved by the authorities we will prepare the club for opening and advise members of their allocated time slots.
Until then and these restrictions are lifted stay safe and well.
