Juan Abeal wins Mens Singles Final

Updated: Jun 6

Well done to everyone for their efforts in the semi finals and the finals of the Quad Club Knockout Competition held at Mijas on the 4th June and for the support provided by the various club members as well as those Mijas members involved in providing the bar and kitchen service.

Also thanks to all the markers used during the various rounds and Jeff Rowe for agreeing to Umpire the Semis and Final.

A high standard of bowls for both gents semi finals with these matches went right down to the wire. The finals had a larger shot difference, but all finalists played well with Juan Abeal (Mijas) and Lesley Bell (Saydo) being the winning Finalists.

With light showers at the start and finish of the days play it was a very pleasant temperature and enabled the players to cope with 2 games required on the same day in the mens competition.

The final standings for the singles games along with the actual scores for the matches are included in the attachment.

Saydo extended their lead, but Mijas retained second place going into the team knockouts.

Next Fridays Pairs and Triples games will see every club hosting two pairs and 2 triples matches with the same number of teams at away venues.

All games scheduled for 10.30 for 11.00 start.

2 off the triples teams need to include a novice bowler who has never played in the Lions or Tigers or at a similar standard. 20 players will be required for next weeks matches from each club.

Mijas pairs play Saydo and Mijas triples play La Posada

Lauro pairs play La Posada and Lauro triples play Saydo.
