Masters fit for the Finals.

On Sunday the 12th February we had thrilling finals in both Triples and Pairs events, with Ian Patterson and Ian Gray lifting both titles with John Fenton Skipping them in the Triples.

In the morning Eoghain O'Bradaigh (Mijas), Margaret and Gordon Kain (Santa Maria) put up stiff resistance in the Triples final and the game was 9-9 at the 10th end before losing a 5 on end 11. There was only 1 shot in the game going into the 17th when the Mijas threesome picked up a 3 to take a comfortable 4 shot lead into the final end and kept it down to a single to run out 19-16 winners and defended their title from 2022.

Sue Garnet and Bob Madge (Santa Maria) had played well in the previous rounds to get to the final and were competitive all the way through the final and kept the gap to 3 shots for the majority of the game but needed 5 shots in the final end to force the tie break. The two Ians managed to cover all the danger areas to remove all the risk of a comeback.

The Captain presented the prizes thanking the sponsors Ibex Insurance and all the competitors who made the event a success. A small presentation was made to Jean Bamber and Maureen for their work in the kitchen and bar and a vote of thanks to Bill Neal for Umpire duties for most of the week.
