Saydo not Sad Oh!

Updated: May 15

Saydo held off a spirited performance from Lauro to win the Quad Club League on shot difference after they won the critical 2 points needed in the final round of matches.

Lauro won all three of their games to push to get level on points including securing a narrow 16-14 win over the Mijas team of Joan Corbett, Clive Nuttall and Geoff Collins. Despite the Mijas triple only being ahead after the very first end there was never much in this game.

Saydos Terry Brooker, Margret and Bill all played well and were deserved winners beating the Mijas triple of John Rimell and John and Sheila Wilson 19-11 to secure the only 2 points needed on the day to get over the line.

La Posada won two of their matches including their 20-13 victory over Juan Abeal, Steve Ward and Bill Neal and left Mijas in bottom spots with no wins on the final days play in this League.

This was a very successful competition that seen the newer bowlers being exposed to

competitive bowling and allowed the experienced player to round it all off with the final series of games.

Pictures of the three Saydo triples involved at Lauro and their triples that got them over the line. However, every member of Saydo that contributed to their achievements over the 4 weeks should be congratulated.

Well done to everyone who played and supported their own clubs on bar, cleaning and rink preparation duties etc..
