We are pleased to announce that we will play Saydo and La Posada in a Summer League this year again to raise the experience levels of our newer bowlers and give our experienced player some competition before the start of the main summer Federation competitions.
The rules, playing schedule and example score card have been added under the Tri-club page of this website. Hopefully Mijas can go one better this time after last years disappointment of missing out on top spot by a couple of shots.
Due to the COVID 19 uncertainty we are a little bit late in completing the preparation work but all of the dates for Mijas games have now been agreed. To ensure we have no issues with green capacity up at Saydo and La Posada we will send two triples up to each venue on the same day and in our second away tie we will swap around our teams to play against previously unused triples from their clubs. Saydo play La Posada to start the League playing two home two away and then repeat the match up a few weeks later.
Mijas first game is away ties on Thursday 16th July 10.15 start at Saydo and 10.30 start at La Posada (this will allow us to drop off people at Saydo on route to La Posada if necessary)
Similarly we will play host to two teams from Saydo and two teams from La Posada on each of our home ties with 10.00 start both days.
Mijas home dates are Tuesday 30th July and Tuesday 4th August.
The final games in this years league see Mijas away on Wednesday 12th August 10.15 start at Saydo and 10.30 start at La Posada. We will try to organise a buffet lunch afterwards and present the cup to the winning club before travelling back down the road if the COVID 19 restrictions permit a large enough social gathering.
All 18 of those members regularly attending the summer roll ups have indicated a desire to play and we will make sure everyone gets to play in at least three of the four games if they so wish.
Lorraine, John Corbett, John Wilson, Juan Abeal and Ian Patterson will be the main skips and Clive and Sheila will be used as back up skips if needed.
