Dress Code changes for 24/25

The FAB Malaga Committee has agreed to change the Dress Code Rules for the 2024/25 season and hopefully clarifying what footwear is acceptable when playing in Federation events including League and Cup ties.

It will be up to each club to set their own standards for their friendlies and roll ups, however flip flops will not be permitted on the Mijas rinks and sandals without heel straps are not recommended as these may invalidate any insurance claim made by an individual.

The Rules has been modified to allow players to wear their club shirts or optional white shirts. We expect Mijas members to wear club colours when the club is paying their entry or rinks fees.

As a club Mijas will continue to use white as our colour below the waist.

The wording from Rule 16 Dress Code is shown below-

Footwear for all Federation Competitions, League Cup and Leagues must be from recognised lawn bowls footwear manufacturers or alternatively must have no heels and have flat smooth soles (skid) on at least 60% of the sole surface area.  Open sandals will only be allowed if they have a retaining strap around the heel. (Insurance cover maybe affected if injured person is wearing open toed shoes)

Members of a club side should wear either club shirts or white tops with collars. Team members should also wear the same colour below the waist (white or black).Should a club be transitioning from one club shirt to another either design will be permitted for the fixture.

Should an infringement of the Dress Code Rule be reported (with pictorial evidence) the player/players reported will not be permitted to play in the remaining League fixtures unless the fully comply with the dress Code rules. Failure to comply with that ruling will result in the game they were involved in being forfeited per Rule 12.
