Lauro beat Mijas by 6 shots despite Mijas winning on 4 of the 6 rinks by 1,2,3 and 4 shots. Congratulations to Lauro on their win and they will play either Benavista or La Posada in the semi finals while Miraflores and Saydo play in the other semi final.

The Handicap Singles draw for Mijas in house competition has been drawn. 4 matches are scheduled for Thursday 23 October at 14.00 hrs along side the semi finals of the Drawn Pairs event. Mat beat Barry 21-7. (Angela marked) Subsequent round play on dates are also included onthe sheet, but games can be played earlier if the two players can arrange the game and marker. The Miraflores Bowl Open has been cancelled and this now provides additional days when ties can be played in a

4 Mijas teams have entered the FAB Malaga 2 bowls event being held at Saydo commencing Sunday 26th October. T & B Dahlgren, Sun 26th, 10 for 10:30am. C Jewson/ A Cox, Mon 27th, 10 for 10:30am. S & J Wilson,  Mon 27th, 10 for 10:30. M & C Hernehult, Mon 27th, 1:30 for 2pm.

Mijas had a 10-0 home win on the triples League against Miraflores with 2 of the games being very close into the final end. This result raised Mijas into 2nd place and a point behind Lauro. The Pairs lost 2-8 away at Saydo and dropped from 1st to 3rd on shot difference.

We have made a provisional booking to return to La Sierra for the clubs Dinner Dance. Due to a very busy bowls calendar in late November and early December the event is expected to be held on Friday 12th December. Friday following Ball and Chain and the week after the last League games in 2025. WE NEED TO CONFIRM THE BOOKING BY 20TH OCTOBER AND DEPOSIT BY THE END OF OCTOBER.

Mijas played across 6 rinks against Dennyside with the tourists being competitive across all of the rinks. This group of bowlers were from across England and blend of Ex Presidents and players who come togehter to raise funds for charities.

Mijas hosted two English touring teams with Basingstoke and Mijas joining forces to play Bishop Cleves across six rinks. Bishop Cleves won two of the six rinks in their last game of their 4 match tour while Basingstoke enjoyed their first game. Thanks to all the players for a very enjoyable afternoon.

Mijas hosted a large group from Plympton BC to a friendly match and drink as game 2 of their 4 club tour. Thanks to all the Mijas members who provided a warm welcome to the players.

The draw was completed for the in-house drawn triples with all 10 teams having played their first games on Tuesday 14th October with most of the games being closely contested. If matches can be arranged prior to the scheduled play on date then they are permitted to do so, but must be agreed by all 6 players. The dates for the semi final and final are shown on the draw sheet. Players are reminded that they should wear their clubs shirts or whites for the in-house competitions.
