Despite the higher temperatures the roll up sessions have been attended by 12 to 16 of our resident members and a few visitors. Game durations have normally been reduced to 16 ends with a few going the extra few ends and the 9.30 start has meant we have managed to miss the extreme temperatures in the afternoon. Those members wishing to play a shorter duration have been accommodated.

Congratulations to Christine Naughton who won the Ladies Champion of Champions Singles event in her district in Ireland.

We have received significant interest from 4 of the 6 Malaga FAB clubs and now have a total of 16 men and 7 Ladies interested in representing our region in this Competition. The Andalucian Championships which will be held in Almeria from 1st thru 4th November inclusive with rinks available for practice on the afternoon before the official start date. Gwen joined a small group of friends for a surprise celebration of her 90th Birthday. Gwen is currently the most senior Mijas LBC member and special thanks to her fellow members in attendance that contributed generously to her birthday lunch. Also a large thanks to Jenny for the beautiful cake.

The majority of our members are proud to be a members of Mijas, but also of their nationality. Mijas had members from 10 nations in 2025/26 and expect that diversity to continue into 2026/27. A number of designs based on the new club shirt concept have been prepared and members can order at a cost of €15/shirt. Any profits over the actual cost price will be put into the club funds. Option E has been selected as the new club shirt design. The Federation meeting was held on 18th June and a few significant issues were discussed and agreed. Paul Hughes was elected as Malaga Team Manager for the next 12 months. Discussions will be held before the next Provincial match regarding selection and changes to the existing team compilation.
