We now look forward to the Spring League. Skips are responsible for the completion of the scorecards and are reminded to ensure it is completed clearly so that the League Co-ordinat

Week 12 League results
Mijas had mixed fortunes in the away Pairs and home Triples League matches against Lauro. The 4-6 away loss was enough to secure the Pairs League title for the 3rd year in succession with one fixture against La Posada at home to be completed on the 4th March. A 0-10 loss in the Triples League demoted Mijas to 3rd place behind La Posada and Lauro and a position that is likely to remain after the final Triples fixture against Saydo at home on the 6th March.

Bente Dahlgren beat Christine Naughton in straight sets to win her 2nd MLBC Ladies Singles Championship Final in front of a good turnout of members and the match was played along side a Gents semi final and a Drawn Pairs Semi final. The game was played to a high standard in the cold conditions, but Bente was most consistent and deserved her win. The Ladies Championship Trophy was presented to the winner by Presdient and Competition Secretary Ian Patterson.

Rearranged match result 24 Feb
Mijas Pairs teams managed a creditable 5-5 draw away to La Posada with wins for Alan C/Chris N and Hans/Kaija. Classe and Maggan recovered from a large deficit to draw 19-19 while Chris J/Sheila lost. Our closest Pair League rivals Saydo had an 8-2 victory away at Lauro to maintain their challenge. These result were not enough to secure the Pairs League title and we need 3 points from the remaining 2 fixtures against Lauro on Friday 27th February away and then at home against

Miraflores duo Win Masters Pairs
After a rain enforced cancellation of play on day one the Mijas Masters Pairs event was completed on schedule with strong winds making conditions very tough for our 4 semi finalists. The 2 teams that adjusted better to the conditions progressed to the finals with identical 17-13 shot wins. The Miraflores pairing of Carol Cooke and Terry Stone (Miraflores) continued to perform well in the afternoon final when the wind strength dropped gradually through out the game. Nick Cummi
