We remember Dennis Hughes
It is with deep regret that I have to announce the sad and sudden passing of Dennis Hughes who was a long term and valued member of La Posada. You were always greeted with a smile from him and his wife Jane when ever you met. Dennis was an Umpire and more recently had been providing those that visited La Posada their morning bacon and sausage rolls. I am sure that all those who met Dennis will have only fond memories. Alternative Round Robin Winners
Mathew Parkinson and Robin (Gus) Drake won the ARRT in the 3rd end of a tie break over Juan Abeal and Christine Naughton in what was an excellent match throughout. Mat and Gus had beat Eoghain and Tom Muckley in a tie break in the morning semis while Juan and Christine required the 3rd end of the tie-break to overcome Ian Patterson and Joan Corbett.

Ball & Chain winners
Tommy and Bente Dahlgren regained the Ball & Chain title they last won in 2023 from Alan and Lynda Robertson who were defending the crown from 2024. This was match worthy of the final and went to the 2nd end of the tie break. Lynda and Alan had won their semi final in 2nd end of the tie break over John and Sheila Wilson in the morning while the Dahlgrens beat Benavista members Julie and Doug Hall winning the second set after a draw in set 1.

Tres Reyes Competition & Social
We will hold a1 day in-house competition based on short format games on Tuesday 6th January during our roll up session and provide Pil-Pil and BBQ pork lunch afterwards. This will be free to our members and their partners. Day 3 update-Ball & Chain/ARRT
After the 3 days we know the semi finalists in the Ball & Chain and the Alternative Round Robin Tournament which will be played on Tuesday 9th December. Alan & Lynda progressed as 2nd placed in their group courtesy of the non-availability of the Tony and Barbara Land for the final day. Three Kings mini comp & social.
We are planning a 1 day round robin competition on Tuesday 6th January (maximum 21 ends of play/player) and we will then celebrate with a Pil-Pil and BBQ Pork social lunch. We expect this to be either Pairs or Triples format in 3 mini group of 4 teams dependant on the level of interest from our members. Week 5 Mijas Pairs 5-5 at Lauro
Mijas shared the points with Lauro thanks to a solid win from Juan and Bill that secured the overall shot difference points with a 20-8 result. Alan and Lynda Robertson came back from a 7 shot deficit at 14 ends and were leading by a shot going into the final end, but lost a two and ended up 17-18. Mijas club festive party
36 Mijas members suitably attired enjoyed a festive rollup, lunch and social afternoon at the club house at the Tuesday 4th December rollup, with Sheila covering the bar. Bente guided her team of Classe and Sallyann to victory in the Fun bowl skills session with an brilliant score of 66 over the16 ends. Their excellent performance meant that their opponents Manolo, Gus and Angela were lowest scoring team on 44. All of the other teams scored between 56 and 48 points over the

Pre festive inhouse Comp winners
Mijas LBC members completed their first 2 in-house competitions on the 3rd December with the Handicap Singles between Tommy Dahlgren and Hans Nordling. Hans had a 3 hot handicap advantage at the start of the game but Tommy managed to overcome this in the first few ends and despite a strong performance in very windy conditions through out from Hans he lost 21-13. Thanks to Ian Patterson for marking the final. The Drawn Triples final was closely contested with the first 8 ends

Mijas lift President 4s Trophy
Mijas club had 10 of the 16 competitors in the Presidents 4s held at Benavista from 29 November thru 2 December and seven of those were from our Scandinavian members. Ulf replaced Tommy D in the final game along with Bente, Classe and Maggan. Simone and Pat formed a Mijas Benavista team. Federation meeting MoMs
The latest minutes from the Federation meeting have been posted on the home page. Significant information affecting our members- Mijas, Saydo, La Posada, Lauro and Benavista will reduce our green fees to €5 for members of the other clubs on a reciprocal basis with immediate effect. Miraflores have not entered into this agreement and our members will be asked to pay €10 when visiting their club and their members will pay our full visitor fees when they play at Mijas. The Andal

League update 29 Nov
La Posada completed their cancelled games with Saydo in the Pairs and Lauro in the Triples. Their 8-2 win at home against Lauro ensured that Mijas finished top going into the Festive break. Saydo had a 6-4 home win against La Posada and that has moved Saydo back to the top of the Pairs table, but Mijas are still to complete their Pairs League fixtures away against Lauro on Friday 5th December.

Lauro retain Challenge Cup
Lauro finished their Cup campaign for 2025 in style with a convincing 141-65 win over Saydo at Mijas LBC. Congratulations to Lauro on their win and Saydo for getting to their first Cup Final. Lauro were 26 points ahead after 4 ends on all the rinks and managed to build on that lead through out the fixtures on rinks 1 thru 3, but rinks 4, 5 and 6 were closely contested over all 18 ends. Mijas Triples team played the rearranged Week 5 home League fixture against Benavista with a convincing 115-35 shot aggregate, but lost one of the games by 2 shots to win 8-2. This result keeps Mijas 9 points clear at the top of the table, but third placed La Posada have still to host second placed Lauro in their Week 5 fixture. England pip R o W to International Challenge for the Pil-Pil Trophy
After 2 rounds of 10 end games England won the shot aggregate points to tie the series on 9 points, but took the title with a 2 shot aggregate being the difference and the deciding factor. Every English team had 1 of their 2 games while RoW had won 4 and drew 1.
