Expandable shades

We are 50% through making expandable shades for the beach end of the rinks and the second half will be completed in early July. In the meantime the removable white shades can be used on rinks 4, 5 and 6 and removed after the games are complete.

The expandable coloured shades on rinks 1- 3 extend in towards rink 2 from the overhead support on rink 1 and the support between rinks 3 and 4.

The moving of the shades can be conducted by 2 members working in tandem using the hook tools shown in the pictures below.

The hooks go over the front and back wires behind the golf balls and then pull gently in the direction required on both front and rear wires trying to keep the cross wire at 90 degrees.

This can be completed by a single members if their arm span is long enough to reach both wires with the tools.

Retract the shades after the game. These should hung back on the fence when not in use. More and longer tools will be provided once we get the remaining coloured shades in place.
