Summer Triples Final-result

Well done to everyone involved in playing, organising and helping with club and Umpire duties the Summer triples event held at Mijas from 5th September. Special thanks to Tommy Dahlgren in completing his first event as Competition Secretary.

We were treated to some excellent bowling through out the event in high temperatures and those teams that fought their way through to the semi final deserved their places.

Jeff Rowe, Amina Cassagne and Gary Hibbert were involved in a very evenly matched semi taking an early 6-0 lead before Liz Chapman, Brain and Shona Robinson got into their stride winning 10 of the next 13 ends to take a 4 shot lead. The La Posada trio rallied to get the better of the last 3 ends and running out 19-17 winners.

Kevin Westwell, Paul Hughes and Jeff Turner continued to perform at a high standard and despite Doug and Julie Hall and Juan Abeal being in contention in every end they found themselves 9-0 down in 6 ends. They were unable to close the gap and needed a hot shot in the last end to force the tie break eventually losing 11-18.

The Final seen the Lauro trio continue their winning ways and despite some closely contested ends there were always more Lauro bowls in the head. The game was conceded with the score at 16-6.
