FAB Malaga Federation MoM.

A Federation meeting was held at Lauro on Wednesday 3rd September, with Bill, John W, Sheila and Mat (observer) in attendance. The latest minutes will be added to the home page when issued, but items that may impact our membership are summarised below.

Bill Davies resigned as Malaga Team Manager and Paul Hughes has agreed to fulfil the role until a replacement is found.

Dates related to the Provincial matches between and Almeria and Malaga and the Andalucian Championships were confirmed for the 2026 Calendar. With Spring and Autumn dates being typically week 11 (only 2027 will be week 10 due to a clash with Easter) and 39 through to 2030 with Spring and Autumn venues alternating between the Provinces.

The Inter Provincial match at Almeria (Indahlo) on 1st and 2nd November 2025 will be played as 4x gender specific triples over 4 sessions. Team selection process and training sessions start on Monday 8th September with significant involvement of Mijas members.

Play in Provincial fixtures after 2025 will be played as World Bowls Rules in Gender specific 2x Rinks(4s) and 2x Singles then 2x Pairs and 2x Triples in alternative sessions.

Andalucian Championships held at Almeria (Indahlo) will consist of gender specific singles and Pairs and then mixed Triples and 4s. Only 4 entries for each discipline will be available to the FAB Malaga delegation meaning that the event will commence at the quarter final stage when players arrive at Indahlo.

We still await exact dates of the Spanish Nationals (Gender specific singles) which will be held in Alicante Region in May 2026 and we expect the dates to be similar to previous years.

Winter League- It was agreed to keep as a Triples and Pairs Leagues played on Fridays with standard start time 11.00 unless agreed by both Captains. Grant Frost (Miraflores) League Secretary will issue the playing schedules.

Lauro, La Posada, Mijas, Saydo, Miraflores and Benavista will contest the Triples (Tiger) League with Lauro defending the crown.

Mijas, Lauro, La Posada and Saydo will contest the Pairs (Lions) League.
